Morning oats

Tomorrow, my mom and I will start on our drive to Orlando! All of today will be spent packing. You’d think after being at college for four years, I would be an expert at packing, but nope. Wish me luck!

To prepare for my busy day, I decided to start out the morning with a bowl of creamy oatmeal made on the stove instead of microwave.

Creamy OatmealIt tastes better than it looks!


  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 egg whites (optional)
  • A couple dashes of almond milk
  • 1/2 sliced banana
  • A dash of cinnamon
  • Sugar (optional)


  1. Combine oats, chia seeds and water in a small pot. Stir frequently as it begins to boil, and continue until it thickens.
  2. Reduce heat and add a splash of almond milk and 2 egg whites (if you’d like). Continue to stir until it thickens.
  3. Pour oatmeal into bowl. Add another splash of almond milk, a sprinkle or two of cinnamon, sugar (optional) and top with banana slices.
  4. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this simple oatmeal recipe. Sometimes I make this in bigger batches and reheat the next day for a quick on-the-go breakfast.
