Minions in the Kingdom!

Last night, my roommates and I dressed up and went to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

As of Monday, we didn’t have any costume ideas but were determined to go in a cute group costume. Our brilliant roommate Jenn found a cute, but simple, Minion costume on Pinterest and spent Monday shopping with Bri to get all of the supplies. Another bonus — the costumes only cost $12 per person.

After getting ready and putting on our costumes, it was obviously time for some Minion pictures!

We had a little minion fun on the patio before we caught the bus to Magic Kingdom to meet our seventh Minion, Cait at the front of the park!

Then, the Minions took over the Magic Kingdom! We received a lot of special attention from Cast Members and other guests. Some even took pictures of us. We went to the Monsters Inc., Laugh Floor and were up on the screen multiple times. Each time we were up, the crowd was directed to say “awkward…” Too funny!

After that, we decided it was time to do some trick-or-treating. We headed to the trail that went from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland and got some great candy! If you’ve never been to Mickey’s Halloween Party before, you’re in for a treat. The seven of us came home with 20 pounds of candy — seriously.

Then, it was time for the parade. Before the parade could step off, it started downpouring. Thanks Florida. The parade was delayed about 15 minutes, but it was worth the wait. It was incredible! We ended up watching the later parade, too.

All of the characters had special Halloween costumes, and they were so cute! Unfortunately, the lines to meet them were so long. Hopefully, next time I will be able to meet at least one of them.

We watched the fireworks in front of the castle, and those were absolutely amazing. I had heard that the fireworks and parade made the Halloween Party worth the price, and after last night, I completely agree.

In true Disney fashion, the fireworks were incredible and perfectly timed to the music. I will definitely go back to the Polynesian or Grand Floridian to watch them.

Before the end of the night, we danced with Boo, Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc. and met Cruella De Ville. We had such a fun time!

Have you ever been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? What was your favorite part?
