Spending time with my parents

Hey everyone! I’ve been very busy the past few days and haven’t had the chance to blog. Over the weekend, my parents came to visit me! They were only here for three nights, and I worked every day. But, we still had a great time! Here is a little recap of the trip…

Staying at The Boardwalk

We stayed at The Boardwalk in the Club Level, and absolutely loved our room. Since we were staying in the Club Level, we had complimentary breakfast, snacks, appetizers and desserts throughout the day. It was a nice perk! I am used to sleeping in a twin-sized bed now, so having a queen bed to myself felt luxurious.

My parents arrived late Thursday night, so I checked into the room after I got off work that day. It was their 26th anniversary! We didn’t do much but talk and then go to sleep.

On Friday, I had to work a 8.5 hour shift, so my parents came to visit me at Dinosaur. As soon as I got off work, my parents and I went to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

I didn’t get to see the Headless Horseman once again, but the fireworks and parade were incredible. My parents had never been to the party before, so we had some fun trick-or-treating in Magic Kingdom and enjoying the very minimal wait times. I brought all of the candy we got to Dinosaur’s break room for my coworkers to enjoy, and it was gone within the day.

Saturday, we had a quick breakfast in the concierge lounge, and then it was back to work for me. Luckily, I had parade duty, so my parents were able to come see me while we were setting up for the parade.

After work, I headed back to the Boardwalk and got ready for our dinner reservations at Citricos at the Grand Floridian.  None of us had ever been there before, and we were all pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. We also had the perfect view of Wishes from our table.

After dinner, my parents and I headed back to The Boardwalk. Once we got back to the room, we realized we could see Illuminations from our balcony and hear the music. We watched that outside (how could we not?) and then headed down to walk around the Boardwalk area to get this:
A delicious fruit tart! Yum! I saved room at dinner to try out a treat here and was not disappointed. I want to go back soon to try some of its other goodies.

Sunday morning started off with a 3-mile run with my mom to Hollywood Studios. We had the perfect running weather! It is finally starting to cool off a little bit here, although I am definitely acclimating to the climate. We ate breakfast at Kouzzinas by Cat Cora, and I had to get those delicious blueberry granola pancakes again.

After breakfast, we walked around a little bit, and then it was time for me to say goodbye to my parents and head to work. I definitely didn’t want to tell them goodbye, but am fortunate that I will be able to see them again soon!
