I haven’t heard back about my Disney Vacation Club Professional Internship yet but should hear back by the end of the week. Needless to say, I have been getting
a little extremely OCD about checking my Disney Dashboard to see if I have had any movement. As “they” (who is they really?) say, no news is good news, so the waiting games continue!
While reading The Huffington Post this morning, I came across the 7 Things Calm People Do Differently by Lindsay Holmes and carefully read her tips. The seven things are very simple, and I hope to put them to use to, not only help with waiting for the PI news, but also with life.
Taking the time to unplug and express gratitude seems so fitting with Thanksgiving coming up and Christmas quickly approaching. I’m terrible with turning off my iPhone before bed since I am often texting people until the last-minute. For the next week, I am going to do my best to stop using my phone about 30 minutes before bed and see if I can notice a difference with my quality of sleep and stress levels.
Another tip is to use vacation time wisely, and I actually get to go on a mini vacation this Wednesday. I am going home for a few days and am so excited to see my family and some friends from college! Luckily for me, traveling will be a breeze since I have very few things to pack to take home. The weather has been freezing at home (low of 16 degrees tonight), so my Florida wardrobe will serve absolutely no purpose in Illinois.
I plan on buying a magazine at the airport and relaxing on my flight home. My only stress is that my mom is able to find my long North Face and remembers to bring it to the airport! Poor me is not used to the cold weather…it was 65 degrees here last night, and I needed a warm jacket and jeans.
If you have time, definitely read all of the 7 Things, and let me know what you think! Would you add anything to the list?
Have a Wild Day! I’m off to work.
